Legislative Advocacy –In 2005, we led efforts to pass the law requiring all schools to open after Labor Day. When special interests tried to repeal that law in December of 2009, we stopped them in their tracks. Since 2006, MLTA has led industry lobbying efforts which has secured in excess of $100 million in funding for Pure Michigan. Last year annual funding for Pure Michigan was increased to $29M. This year our goal is $35 million! Heads fall in beds when we work together to grow rural, urban, resort and cultural travel and tourism. Your membership makes these efforts stronger!
