Michigan Lodging & Tourism Association memberships are available in a variety of different categories, including:
Lodging Members - Lodging properties serving transient guests.
50 rooms or less = $255 annually
51 to 75 rooms = $8.20 per room
76 rooms and up = $8.50 per room
MLTA prorates dues based on a membership year of September 1 through August 31st of each year. To determine your prorated dues, divide your annual dues by 12 (months in a year). Take that figure and multiply it by the number of months remaining in the membership year.
EXAMPLE: A 78 room hotel joins during the month of May.
78 x $8.50 = $663 (annual dues)
663 divided by 12 = $55.25 (per month)
$55.25 x 4 (months remaining in membership year = $221.00 prorated dues.
IF you prefer - you can pay your annual dues in full. MLTA will prorate your dues, apply that to the balance due for the remainder of the current membership year, and reduce your September 1 renewal by the remaining amount.
(Please note: All properties with 51 or more rooms automatically become members of both MLTA and our national association, the American Hotel & Lodging Association, (AH&LA).

Qualified Tourism Member - $35 annually
Qualified Tourism Members are defined as those businesses that are members of a statewide trade association that specifically represents their industry segment. Examples include: golf courses operators that belong to the Michigan Golf Course Owners Association - MGCOA, marinas owners who belong to the Michigan Boating Industries Association - MBIA, campground owners who belong to the Michigan Association of Recreation Vehicles and Campgrounds - MARVAC, or the Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds - ARVC Michigan.
Providing their trade association does not offer a similar program, Qualified Tourism Members may participate in MLTA Member Benefit Programs such as our credit card processing program with interchange pass-through rates of .085% and 8.5 cents per item.

Non-Qualified Tourism Member - $1,000 annually
Non-Qualified Tourism Members are defined as those tourism businesses that do not belong to a statewide trade association representing their industry segment as described above. Why the huge cost differential?
Because MLTA does not want to steal any other trade association's membership base. We believe that our industry is only as strong as each individual segment. It's vitally important that golf course, campground, marina owners, etc all belong to and support their respective trade associations. Nobody works harder for the unique and general needs of each segment than those trade associations! And ... nobody works harder for lodging properties and the overall needs of Michigan's tourism industry than MLTA!!

Or maybe you should just join your segment's trade association instead....
